Victoria Police suspended the officers pending an investigation in February when a 58-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries after he was arrested in Narre Warren South in the early hours of February 4. The man was later discharged from hospital.

At the time, the Victoria Police professional standards unit began an internal investigation into the incident and the state’s anti-corruption watchdog, the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission, monitored the investigation.
